Whisk to combine. Once the mixture starts to boil, remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature.When the marinade has cooled, place the salmon steaks in a glass baking dish. Pour the marinade over the fish. Cover and refrigerate for 6 to 12 hours.Pre-heat the grill to 180°C (350°F).Rinse the salmon (the maple syrup will burn otherwise).Sear for about 2–3 minutes on each side. Place the fish on the indirect grill and close the lid to finish cooking. The steaks will be cooked through when they reach an internal temperature of 63°C (145°F).
