Thirsting for Vitamins?

Juice is a cool way to drink your fruits, vegetables and herbs. Ingredients are juiced up by passing them through an extractor or centrifuge to eliminate the solids (pulp) and keep only the liquid. There’s nothing like a large glass of fresh homemade juice to perk you up and recharge your vitamin reserves!

Did you know that a small 1/2-cup (125-mL) glass of fruit or vegetable juice counts as a serving?

Try fruit drinks and cocktails!

Low in calories, "real" juice is a delicious way to supply your body with vitamins and minerals. But watch out for fruit drinks, cocktails and nectars—they contain a lot of sugar. Remember that, unlike juice made from whole fruits or vegetables, commercial juices contain no dietary fibre.

Preserve the most nutrients possible: Make your own juice!

  • It's really quite easy, especially if you have a juicer. Select the raw fruits and/or vegetables you want, wash them and put them through the juicer.
  • If you don't have a juicer, use a blender to purée peeled and chopped fruit. Add a little liquid (water or juice) and blend again. Blender-made juices are thicker but just as delicious and nutritious.
  • Wake up your taste buds in the morning with a glass of fresh-made juice—orange, grapefruit or passion fruit or a carrot-pear-pineapple mix!
