Drain and mash adding the milk, butter and seasonings.In a frying pan over medium heat, brown the chopped onion in butter and oil for 3 to 4 minutes.Add the beef and use a spoon to crumble the meat. Add the other ingredients and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.DuxellesPreheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C).Heat the butter and oil over medium heat and brown the chopped mushrooms and green onions for 4 to 5 minutes.Add the garlic, sprinkle in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Pour in the vinegar and broth, add the thyme and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.In a greased ovenproof dish, spread a layer of the duxelles, followed by the ground meat and finally the mashed potatoes. Cook covered in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes.

Duxelles
