Preheat oven to 177 °C ( 350 °F ).In a frying pan, melt butter over medium heat.Add squash slices and brown about 3 minutes.Turn squash slices over, and add fresh ginger, salt and pepper, and maple syrup.Continue cooking a few minutes longer.Place in oven and bake until squash slices are tender in the middle, about 7 minutes.Remove from oven and serve with grilled meat.
